Experience:
Chris Arima brings diverse legal experience in criminal defense, civil litigation, arbitration, and legal research to Krehbiel & Barnett. As a former Assistant Public Defender with the New Mexico Law Offices of the Public Defender, Chris represented clients facing charges ranging from DUIs to felonies. Prior to that, Chris worked as a Law Clerk at Herbert Smith Freehills in New York, focusing on civil litigation, investment arbitration, and comparative business law.
During law school, Chris conducted research on privacy, genetic data, and bioethics for George Washington University and provided judicial support as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Bert Richardson of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
Before beginning a legal career, Chris served in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician and Arabic Linguist, specializing in intelligence collection and analysis.
